This lemon marks the start of the series Afterthoughts. Cecilie has always had a love for looking and searching for expression in unexpected places and things. When this lemon had been left lying around, she "rescued" it and placed it on the desk in her studio. There it remained for a few more months and finally, almost by chance, she used it as a "model". After painting the lemon with light, several motifs followed, such as her assembly of carrots, the cuved banana andthe pair of avocados with and without a seed. The exciting aspect is that a random and forgotten lemon became the start of something new.
